Wellston is the steelhead and salmon capital of the Michigan. Located in the heart of the Manistee National Forest, providing excellent opportunities for outdoor recreation. Activities include bining, canoeing & kayaking, fishing, kiking, hunting, cross-courntry skiing and snowmobiling. The town was founded by the Swigart Land Company along the Chicago & Western Michigan Railroad. Wellston is home to the world-renowned critically-ill kids' ministry Little Mary's Hospitality House, founded in 1982.
